Mayor Alfred C. Bigelow "Chuck"

I was born May 3, 1965, in Provo City Utah.  I’m married to Jennifer Bigelow and we have four children together, Hunter, Harmonee, Hallee and Holden.  I graduated from Cottonwood High School in Salt Lake City and went to work at the Draper State Prison in January of 1987.  I transferred to the Gunnison Prison in August of 1990 and took up residence in Manti.  I married Jennifer in August of 1991 and together we have raised our family here in Manti.

I retired from Corrections in May of 2017 after working for the state for 30 years and 5 months.  I served as the Warden of both the Gunnison and Draper prisons for the last ten years of my career in Corrections.  This gave me extensive knowledge and experience in managing large budgets, personnel and helped shape my leadership style into what it is today.  I currently run two small businesses, BIG’s Taxidermy with a partner and 3 Brothers African Hunting Safaris with my two brothers.  I have also helped Jennifer with the Easter Egg Hunt in Manti since it was re-established by Pam Lund and Jennifer.

As Mayor I hope to bring unity, transparency, efficiency and accountability for the residents of Manti City as we move forward with managed growth and work to grow managed economic development that fits the nature of Manti.  We need to work together to maintain our rural lifestyle while realizing growth that is coming to rural Utah while keeping in mind our Pioneer heritage.  I want our children to grow up in a safe, wholesome community much like my children were able to do.  My door is open to input from our citizens and were always looking for volunteers to serve on committees and work groups who want to improve their city and help maintain our lifestyle.  Together we can achieve this outcome!
